So What's Going on...
Thomas Brodhead, whose formal work is in classical musicology, has been painting since 2009, and has produced works spanning humorous caricature to methodically constructed geometric color studies that realize both abstract and representational subjects. His work has received solo shows at the Arts Center of Cannon County in Woodbury, Tennessee, in 2017, and at the Vanderbilt University LGBTQI Center (the K.C. Potter Center) in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2014-15. His work was featured in the "O" Gallery in the Arcade in Nashville in 2016, and his painting "Harlequin Donnybrook" was accepted into the Oak Ridge Art Center's Open Show, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, in 2015. His work, "Pay-per-view Celebrity Nativity: The Birth of Venus Kanyedashian" won honorable mention in the 2013 Alphabet Art Show, sponsored by the Nashville Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and several of his works were featured in the 2013 Tomato Art Festival in East Nashville.
